Cedar River Rendezvous with Bay Marine Print E-mail
Bay Marine is hosting its third annual cruise to Cedar River Marina in Cedar River, MI, from July 20-22. They met half of their goal with 50 boats joining this year’s fleet for a weekend of fun and entertainment on and off the water.

For only $50 and a slip fee, those with reservations will leave together in groups on Friday, July 20, to reach Cedar River Marina. Meals are included on the Friday and Saturday nights, as well as breakfast on Sunday morning. Boaters are also encouraged to attend the three seminars held by: John Biestenz, of Cruisers Yachts, and Jinger McCabe, of Murphy Systems, on new boat products, and Pam Stanley of Global Marine on insurance. For entertainment, join in and play boating games, card games and tournaments planned throughout the weekend.

On Friday night, two-man band Dave Steffen and Craig Neuser will be playing two, 90-minute sessions.  Replica, a five-piece band playing 60s to 70s style music, will follow on Saturday night with two, 90-minute shows. And, if enough interest arises from those participating, the boaters may take a trip to Chambers Island. A sign-up sheet will be waiting at Cedar River Marina on Friday for that event.

“It’s just the camaraderie of being with people, other boaters,” said Gail Chadek of Bay Marine. “They get together, they have a good time discussing their boating stuff or whatever—it’s just great for meeting other boaters.”

Next year Bay Marine would like to recruit a captain to review the water safety rules with boaters in a pre-trip seminar. Any captains willing to teach boaters basic safety measures can reach Gail at (920) 743-6526. Remember: if you give a man a boat and he can explore the waters today, but if you teach a man to boat safely—he can cruise for a lifetime.

Rendezvous anyone?  It’s a little too late to sign up for the 3rd annual Bay Marine Rendezvous this year, but don’t let that get you down—there’s always next year!

To get your chance to talk to factory reps, attend seminars, eat good food, play games and dance the night away, begin your inquiry as early as March of 2008. Just call (920) 743-6526 and talk to Gail.  Join in the fun and make the Bay Marine Annual Rendezvous your tradition.
