So, when the Village of Egg Harbor’s harbor master called him 10 years ago in need of help, he gladly joined the group as the assistant harbor master. One year later, he became the harbor master and stayed for the next seven years, gaining the title of, “the friendliest harbor master on the Great Lakes.” Now, Michael is Sturgeon Bay Marine’s harbor master of two years, and still going strong. His main duty is taking care of and managing the dock and fuel dock. “You just can’t beat our friendly service,” Michael said. What do you like about the Sturgeon Bay Marine Center? You just can’t beat our friendly service—that’s number one. Also, its cleanliness, easy access and fair price. What is special or unique about the Bay Marine Center’s Facilities? Because husband and wife owners, we can very much be part of ideas. We have a very creative outlook on our future. No matter what size vessel you have, we can accommodate small, large, even huge, because we have both fixed docks and floating docks—a big variety. What precautions should boaters take for a safe trip in and out of the marina? The depth on either side of us. There are two marinas, one to our port side and one to our starboard side—you have to be careful of the water depth. We appreciate a call in advance. Who should boaters contact? The marina’s number, which is (920) 743-0038, or they can call on marine channel 9, and then we switch to channel 11. Who else is available to help boaters? Dan Schott—owner Ken Lynch—general manager
